KCK Pump Station – Repairs

Problem:
The pump station was approximately 45′ deep. The repairs needed were in the top 6′ of the pump station with the only access through a 4′ x 9′ hatched opening. Goedecke came up with a way to suspend a work platform at the desired height without going down 45′ for assembly of the swing stage.
Solution:
We utilized our Hi-K shoring to suspend a Sky Climber beam over the opening. We were able to attach the Stage above the opening and then manipulate it through the opening.
Outcome:
Set up took a day. Mega used it for a day and then transferred it to another pump station for a very similar situation. Our solution with the Swing stage avoided scaffolding from the bottom up.
